It's a Wonderful Life…

with the Mace family.

Taking a break!

This will be the last post for 21 days.  Why you ask?  Because Nate and I have decided to do a Daniel fast.  Well what is that, you ask?  It’s 21 days of prayer and fasting.  We will be eating only fruits and veggies for 2 meals a day.  We are also turning off all electronics.  You will be able to reach us by phone, so not all communications will be cut off.  During these 21 days, we will be praying and studying Scripture during the times when we normally would have watched t.v, played video games, or messed around on the computer.  The boys are also participating, though clearly not to the same extent.  We are not changing their eating too much, other doing new dishes that cater to ours.  (But we do this anyway, I love to make something new for dinner)  They won’t be using electronics either and have each given up something.  Bjorn has decided to give up reading any books except the bible during this time.  Gavin is giving up 15 mins of playtime to read his Bible stories.  We are also going to be adding some family time.  Since moving here, we really stopped doing what we used to.  In Rocky Mount, we were playing games as a family several times a week before bed time.  We don’t do that anymore, though we have started reading as a family a series of books called the Wilderking Trilogy.  We all really like it as a family, even Nate and I want to read more each night.  Well I am off here to go eat some cinnamon rolls.  They have been cooling and scenting my house with their wonderful fragrance.  xo
